Become a House Leader

Step into a live-in leadership role and become part of the team that helps guide daily life at Anchor House. House Leaders serve during evenings, overnights, and weekends, creating space to pursue school, work, or other commitments during the day.

Lead with Purpose

The House Leader role is one of the most impactful and growth-oriented opportunities at Son Care Mentoring. Designed to foster personal growth, leadership development, and servant leadership. This role provides an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of others while continuing their own personal and professional development. This position carries significant responsibility and requires reliability, consistency, integrity, and a genuine willingness to lead by example. House Leaders are expected to model the values of Son Care Mentoring, support the daily success of the home, and cultivate an environment that promotes accountability, respect, and personal growth.

As a House Leader, you’ll:

  • Build meaningful relationships with program participants

  • Provide mentorship, structure, and accountability

  • Help create a positive, growth-focused environment

  • Oversee daily household responsibilities and routines

  • Coordinate activities and encourage engagement

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment

You won’t just manage a home - you’ll help shape a culture.

What You'll Gain

This role is challenging, but deeply rewarding. House Leaders receive:

  • Ongoing mentoring and leadership coaching

  • $18-$20/hour - part-time

  • Private room for rent $800/month (utilities included), on-site

  • Pet Friendly

  • Meals provided through the program

More importantly, you’ll gain real-world leadership experience that carries into every area of life.

Schedule & Commitment

This role is designed to be flexible:

  • Overnight presence is required (10 pm to 6:30 am, must remain on grounds)

  • Typically 3-4 weeknights per week

  • Every other weekend (Friday–Sunday)

  • 2-3 House Leaders rotate responsibilities

Who This Is For

We’re looking for individuals who:

  • Are committed to personal growth and integrity

  • Lead by example and take responsibility seriously

  • Have a desire to mentor and invest in others

  • Can maintain structure while building trust and respect

The Reality of the Role

This is meaningful work, but it’s not always easy.

The men in the program are choosing growth, but like anyone, they face challenges with consistency, motivation, and follow-through. As a House Leader, you’ll learn how to lead through those moments with patience, clarity, and accountability.

You won’t do it alone - you’ll have support, coaching, and a team behind you every step of the way.

Why It Matters

Growth happens when people are willing to step up, serve others, and stay committed - especially when it’s hard.

As a House Leader, you’ll not only help others grow - you’ll be stretched, refined, and developed into a stronger leader yourself.
